This project involves creating a digital self-portrait that is crafted as a composite image accompanied by your name and quote you live by. Your work will be published and on display.
What is a composite image? A composite image is made up of many elements. Each element adds uniqueness to the final portrait that represents you. Keep in mind a composite image is more than copy and paste. It uses blending, opacity and tools to make each element feel it belongs there.
With this project, you learn to use Adobe Photoshop, design ideas, basic graphic/image manipulation tools and more.
Your portrait should highlight things that are unique and special to you. Develop a theme for your work that visually characterizes how you want to be represented.
Background: Choose a background image that will cover the canvas. You can do this by downloading an image from the internet or taking a photo yourself for your background.
Picture: Include a picture of you where you delete the background. Viewers need to be able to see that you are in the picture.
Quote: Include a quote you find inspirational embedded somewhere in your work that is easy to read. Give credit to the author of the quote, if you cannot find the author be sure to say “unknown.”
Your Name: Create a layer for your name and layer style to make text pop and easy to read.
This work will be a way to express yourself through visual representation. Use fx effects to make your name pop.
Lighting: Use light effects to give depth to your image.
